In 2015, the Ministry of Economy and Finance has created a unit, the CERT MEF - Computer Emergency Response Team – aimed at enhancing the prevention of cyber security incidents and improving the ability to react to cybernetic threats within the PA.

MEF, thanks to its vision, which led to the establishment of the CERT and of the inter-institutional group responsible for the executive planning and definition of the first operational processes, is promptly responding to all the national initiatives taking place in 2017 in the cybersecurity field. The Ministry thinks indeed that only a synergistic and systematic approach to cybersecurity can make the difference.
