PoSeID-on project, Schiavo: “This is how citizens will finally have control of their digital data”

How can European citizens take control of their digital data? The answer might be in the Privacy-Enhanced Dashboard, developed within the PoSeID-on project and funded by the EU.
The GDPR is a big step forward for data privacy, but it still leaves citizens with doubts and concerns about how their personal data is used and monitored. The PoSeID-on project team tried to bridge the gap with the "Privacy-Enhanced Dashboard". With this platform, consumers can take back control of their data and decide how much they want to share and with whom.
The director general of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and coordinator of the project Francesco Paolo Schiavo, accepted the invitation of CORDIS (Community Reasearch and Development Information Service) and gave an interview about the new dashboard and its potential benefits for European citizens and e-service providers.
"The Privacy-Enhanced Dashboard aims to protect personal data. It is an integrated and comprehensive solution that safeguards the rights of data subjects. Using the Privacy-Enhanced Dashboard, people will have concise, transparent, understandable and easy access to their personal data.
The web dashboard allows, by logging in with one's electronic identification account, tracking of personally identifiable information (PII) and management of usage permissions.
We are proud to have a solution that gives individuals control over their personal data, increases their trust in web services, and provides new ways to facilitate the deployment of those services".
