On June the 11th, the PoSeID-on project was officially launched. It is project of Community interest dedicated to the creation of an innovative platform for the management and protection of personal data.

The project - financed by the EU's Horizon2020 program - involves partners from Austria, Spain, France, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands and Italy who met in Rome, under the direction of the MEF, for a 2-day discussion on the activities to carry out and on the consequences of the project on the NoiPA System.

During the meeting, the representatives of the various partners described the technological components that will be developed, showing the possible reuse of the platform and presenting the use cases on which the new solution will be tested, including the digital services of the municipality of Santander and the NoiPA system.

PoSeID-on will be included in NoiPA ensuring new and higher sensitive data management and security standards. Users will have a specific interface in the NoiPA portal at their disposal that will keep them up to date on the use and of the level of protection of their digital identity.

As shown by Roberta Lotti, Director of the Information Systems and Innovation Department of MEF, during the meeting by accessing the NoiPA portal users, through the application of PoSeID-on, will be able to enjoy new features that will empower them with more information and with a greater control over data privacy.

An even greater step forward thinking that, in the future, NoiPA will also treat data from the healthcare sector, where the issues of privacy and respect of citizen’s will are even more important.

In addition to a new and better privacy control, PoSeID-on aims to ensure much more security and efficiency of the databases.

Thanks to the use of the Blockchain technology, indeed, the storage systems will be way more stable, a feature that will discourage in a more incisive way any attempt to access and to tamper information.

In order to protect the data of NoiPA, artificial intelligence and Machine Learning systems will also be used to prevent and report possible risks of data loss or subtraction.

NoiPA, thanks to PoSeID-on, will guarantee more transparency on privacy issues, make databases more robust and guarantee cutting-edge data protection systems. A fundamental step forward to allow the PA to continue its digitization process in line with the highest European safety standards. Above all, PoSeID-on, like the entire NoiPA project, has a clear underlying objective: improve services by increasing awareness, information and freedom of choice for citizens-users.
